Growing up, I was always an athlete. The best at every sport I played, always felt strong and unstoppable. After high school, I began to lose the one thing I loved the most about myself, my athleticism. I hadn’t picked up a ball in years, I was in and out of the gym but could never find the passion that I had always had. I began to gain weight, I was never fat, but I was definitely not the person I knew myself as. I was out of shape, wasn’t eating healthy, and definitely didn’t love my body like I always did. It was always the one thing I was most proud of, my body.
I had heard about Roy and his gym Interval for a long time but never had the confidence to go give it a chance. I wasn’t used to not being confident in the gym, or anything that had to do with athleticism. My wedding was coming up and I decided it was time to take care of myself. It was time to give up all the excuses and make a change. I signed up online but never actually went. 2 1/2 months before my wedding, Roy gave me a call, told me to come in that Sunday, and didn’t take no for an answer. WOW, am I happy he made that call. I came in that Sunday and from that day on my life changed!
I began to go to the gym on a daily basis, the passion that I thought I had lost came right back. It has become an addiction, the only addiction I hope I keep my entire life. Roy, and his assistant Alex have changed my life! I didn’t need to lose 20 or 30 pounds, I needed a life change. I needed to love myself again, both inside and out. Roy taught me how to eat healthy, and how to enjoy it. 2 months after starting I had my first wedding dress fitting… When I put my dress on I began to cry… I felt beautiful again. Immediately I sent Roy a before and after photo (he was the only person to see my wedding dress before the wedding).
Long story short, Roy and his team are an inspiration. Every day that I walk into the gym I walk out just a little bit stronger. We have all become a family and consistently push each other to be better and better.
People on the street stop me and ask me which Crossfit gym I work out in, and I proudly say Interval Strength & Conditioning! Roy, I love you, thank you for changing my life!
